Technically not freeware however, no additional charge for XP I include it not because it can do the stateful packet inspection³ Kerio and other can do. I am a big fan of using one NIC for external connection (through a firewall) and another NIC for communications with my internal network. Only the “free” Microsoft Windows firewall will support “multi homing⁴” on my PC when running MS Windows. For a detailed look at how to setup the Windows firewall see the footnotes^{5 6}.
