This manual has been designed to provide information for students to pass (green bar) the CompTIA Security+ certification test.

The material for the student has been designed for a student seeking Security+, and possibly using this as a stepping-stone to CISSP. This material provides a direct road map of what to expect when taking the Security+ test. This material is reflected in the Test Objectives and Wise Owl Tips. It is highly recommended that students pay special attention to the Wise Owl Tips prior to taking the Security+ exam

This manual may also be used for self-study purposes. The courseware was written for the student who has almost no networking experience, and requires some additional instruction on theory. We suggest reviewing the Test Objectives and Wise Owl Tips in your initial reading of this study guide.

The body of knowledge is 2 years practical experience. US pricing is currently $175 for CompTIA members and $225 for non-members. The wording on the CompTIA site leads us to believe this may be special introductory pricing only. Exam number is SY0-101¹. Number of questions is 100, with 90 minutes to complete, requiring a score of 764 on a scale of 100-900 to pass. (This means 83%).
