Interception and Antenna Placement
Attempt to place antennas as far
from exterior walls as possible. Typically the interface between the
wired network and the transceiver is placed in a corner in an effort
to hide the electronics. That places the network signal outside and
easy to intercept. In effect, you have put an Ethernet jack for your
network in the parking lot. Besides controlling power output and antenna
placement and configuration, consider shielding, the next topic.
Wireless Configuration
As pointed out in the main text body, antennas make a HUGE difference in how your wireless network performs in all aspects. What you may not realize is that authors doing research learn a great deal about how a company performs customer service. A huge tip of the hat goes to Sharon Cantor and Hyperlink Technologies247, Inc. for kindly supplying photographs of antennas. |
