5.1 Physical Security Physical security involves the safety and security of the actual hardware, cables and other physical components of your network. In one documented case, precautions were taken, and the server was placed in a locked, windowless room. The security aspects seemed satisfied. The hapless firm discovered otherwise when the intruder simply pushed the ceiling tiles aside outside the server room, and went over the wall, which did not go all the way to the ceiling. Once inside, the intruder unplugged the server, opened the door from the inside of the server room, and walked out with the server containing the data. Consider:
