Patch Panels

The patch panel terminates raw cabling, and grants flexibility in re-routing and troubleshooting.

Port density of patch panels ranges from 4 ports to 96 or more ports. They are designed to install on a 19-inch rack mount. This is located at a central point where all wiring comes together. The panel is female based and ready for an RJ-45 plug. This gives easy re-configuration to aid in troubleshooting.

Patch Panel Jacks

Know the different types of jacks you’re likely to see on a patch panel, as illustrated in Figure 20.
