XI TCP/IP Network Diagnostic Utilities
While the TCP/IP suite
has a wide variety of programs available for troubleshooting,
or obtaining performance data. The following utility programs
are valid test questions for the NETWORK+
test.
Most of these utilities
are command-line programs. To run them, first run cmd.exe
(if on NT or Windows 2000) or command.com (if on Windows
9x), and when the Command Prompt box opens, type the desired utility
command line.
 COMMAND.COM vs. CMD.EXE
NT has 2 command shells. The 16-bit shell is command.com. The 32-bit shell is cmd.exe. It is preferable to use the 32-bit shell, cmd.exe by navigating to Start -> Run then typing cmd.exe of the switches on the NBTstat command is expected for the Network+ exam.
