Using the Windows Disk Defragmenter (Page 1 of 2) From Windows Help Files: Using Disk Defragmenter to speed up access to your hard disk. You can use Disk Defragmenter to rearrange files and unused space on your hard disk so that programs run faster. To start Disk Defragmenter, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then clicking Disk Defragmenter. Figure 85 will appear.
Choose the drive you want to defrag, and you will see Figure 86.
Fragmentation then begins, and you will see a box like that shown in Figure 87.Note: Choosing the Show Details button will show the progress of the defragmentation process.
