Memory Swap Files
NT uses a swap file,
just as Windows 9x. The Control Panel is where the size
of the swap file can be adjusted.
![[spacer]](1p.gif) Swap File Sizing
You can increase performance of NT by adjusting the minimum and maximum size of the swap file by making each entry the same number. This prevents the system from dynamically adjusting. Hard drive space is cheap, so make it one large number. A good rule of thumb is the amount of ram, plus some, at least 16 MB more. |
To change the file size in Windows
2000, go to Control Panel, then System, then Advanced.
You will see the display in Figure 150.
