Maintenance / Clean-up Utilities Even NT isnt perfect. And it seems to be closer to nirvana than most of the applications that run on NT. Sometimes either NT or some application that is running on NT blows up. Compared to Windows 9x, it keeps a very watchful eye on what is going on. Depending on what is selected to monitor, something as minor as changing the time can be logged. Typically, this is a waste of computing resources. And this monitoring can be invaluable to you when you are attempting to figure out what has happened on a PC with NT. NT has an applet called the Event Viewer that will monitor to whatever level it was told to do so. There are three major logs, broken down by the names, System, Application, and Security.
The Event Logs can be your eyes that never blink when it comes to system monitoring.
