Incremental Backup This choice means a partial backup of files that have changed , since the last full backup. Typically this is method is used as a daily backup. This means that only the files that have changed are backed up each day and since the amount of data or information is less, it is a faster method. The archive bit is cleared each backup. To restore from tape using this backup method, you must use the full backup (complete) set of tapes AND each daily tape, going all the way back to the last full backup. This method is the fastest backup, but not the safest as the archive bit is cleared. Do not rely on this method alone.
