IV Summary Understanding file structure and how the FAT works or not with each operating system will assist us in planning installation and setup of the hard drive. Understanding the various features of each type of FAT will help in troubleshooting file sharing and drive space issues. By learning about drive fragmentation and defragmentation we can mange hard drives more efficiently. The various utilities mentioned to install and maintain our FAT should be explored through further practice. This chapter was an introduction to the concepts and further study is encouraged.
