Hiding PROMPT and CLS A method to strike terror into the heart of almost any PC user is to enter prompt followed by the $ sign and while holding down the ALT key, use the number pad and enter 255. This tells the PC to use the 255th character for the prompt. Character 255 is nul (blank). After entering this, type the three letters, C:\ >CLS enter. This is the DOS command to clear the screen. At this point, the screen will be completely blank. Type prompt $P $G enter again before the user regains consciousness. 8 Practice Hiding Prompt
