Explorer (Page 4 of 4) Viewing Details Youve seen that you can open Explorer from My Computer by right clicking the menu option or double-clicking on Explorer. To open Explorer from the start menu, choose Programs, then Windows Explorer. Explorer is intended to be the navigation menu that allows you to see all the files and file details in your computer.
Notice all the information contained in the window. The bottom of the window tells us how much disk space there is and that we are exploring the "my computer" portion of the desktop. The information in the split window (panes) is designed to tell you what drive or folder you are exploring and what information is contained in there. You can see by going to this menu that you can choose from your hard drive to floppy to cd-rom drive or any other drive options on your computer. Once in the drive you can click on any program or file you wish to view further or open and even a program to start. 8 Practice Opening Windows Explorer
