Encryption

So what else can we do to a file or a drive? We can encrypt it.! Why encrypt? For security!

Encryption is a means of applying an algorithm to the file and making it secure.

Think of this like trying to decode hidden words in a puzzle. When applied to a file, the encryption program reassembles the information to its code, then when decrypted, assembles it back again as it was meant to be read.
