Display Troubleshooting We can have various installation or configuration issues with a display adapter or a monitor. Sometimes we need to make adjustments to the graphics accelerator. To do this, go to System Properties, point to Display Adapters, click the plus sign to display all available adapters (since on recent versions of Windows, you can have more than one adapter and more than one monitor), and double-click the adapter whose settings you wish to adjust.
Once in the Display Adapter a screen similar to Figure 60 appears.
Now choose the Graphics Tab and you will see something like Figure 61.
Here the Graphics acceleration (hardware) can be adjusted. Having some control over the adapter will help with memory and display issues. Note that sometimes issues with a display getting garbled can be resolved by reducing the hardware acceleration. The good news is that even if the changes we make are not right we can adjust them again after rebooting to safe mode.
