Disk Administrator
NT can be found as an Operating System
for users or as the foundation of a server. Because of this, the drive
support in NT is much greater. For example, NT will support (in its
own software) multiple drives making one volume (spanning), two physical
drives backing each other up (mirroring), or stripping data, without
or with parity (RAID 0 and 5 respectfully). NT can even support drives
without drive letters assigned to them. All these new features needed
to be put someplace. That someplace is known as the Disk Administrator.
Disk Administrator
Adding/Changing/Removing/Formatting drives is done with Disk Administrator in NT 4. |
