Check for Disk Errors using ScanDisk From Windows Help Files: You can use ScanDisk to check your hard disk for logical and physical errors. ScanDisk can then repair the damaged areas. This is important to do, because a damaged disk may cause your files to be stored improperly so that you wont be able to pull them up on your computer again. When Scandisk is run, the screen shown in Figure 95 is displayed. Clicking Advanced brings up advanced options for error checking (Figure 96).
