Better Prompting with PROMPT The prompt command can be used to modify how the operator is told the pc is ready for the users bidding. by typing the command prompt with a $ sign followed by either reserved characters or a string of text, the command prompt instantly changes to that ready set. Two of the most commonly used prompt characters are:
The $P tells the operator what area of a hard drive they are in. This is called the sub-directory or folder. The folder or sub-directory is covered later on. The $G creates the greater than symbol (>)
