VIII Physical Characteristics
The physical characteristics
of a hard drive consist of Platters, Spindle, Read/Write
Heads and the Actuator Arm. These are enclosed in
a sealed case to protect them from any contamination.
It is very important to never open
a hard drive because even one spec of dust inside the
unit would most likely cause the drive to become unusable.
With this overview, let's examine each of these in more detail.
