ATX Form Factor
Today the ATX design
reigns. The change is not so much about square inches. It is
about how the square inches are laid out. The orientation on
the systemboard is rotated 90 degrees. Cable
connections for drives are closer to the part
of the case where the drives are usually mounted,
and the CPU is closer to the power supply,
and therefore the cooling fan.
