AC/DC Electricity can flow in either direction. If it only moves in one direction, it is called Direct Current (DC). Remember the idea expressed earlier that as electricity flows it also makes a magnetic field? Well if you spin a bunch of wires between two magnets, (which you might do with, say a waterwheel) you get electricity that swings back and forth between positive and negative charges creating Alternating Current (AC).
