/sbin
Linux differentiates between the
normal commands the users run, located in /bin,
and what would be considered commands designed for system maintenance
and administrative functions located here in the /sbin
directory. Many of these commands have restricted privileges so that
only the system administrator may run them, other commands may be executed
by the average user but only allow certain options to be performed by
these users.
