df - Report Filesystem Disk Space Usage The df command will show the disk space usage for all mounted file systems. An example: df Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/hda8 13511008 10442012 2382672 82% / /dev/sdc6 8830152 4648620 3732984 56% /mnt/hd Shows that the file system /dev/hda8 mounted at / (the root file system ) has a little over 2.3 GB of free disk space and the file system /dev/sdc6 mounted at /mnt/hd has about 3.7 GB of free disk space.
