What is a Network? This portion of operating systems will cover Networking and the Windows Operating Systems family. The first question to answer is What is a network? A network is by definition an environment that allows 2-way communication between computers. You may have only one computer available to you, however when you connect to the Internet you are part of a network. That process of connection and communication are the basic components of the network. The study of networking is complex and by nature is more comprehensive than the compounded overview offered here. This section intends to provide a working knowledge of a network.
