This applet is where most troubleshooting begins.

Double clicking this applet takes us to the System Properties dialog, which is actually the same one that appears when right clicking My Computer and choosing the “Properties” option. To recap, under Windows 2000 and XP the dialog appears similar to Figure 86.

Under Windows 95, 98 and NT it has a different appearance, with different options. This section will cover the Windows 2000 and XP version.
