System Properties (Page 5 of 10) User Profiles Click the Cancel button to return to the System Properties dialog, and click the User Profiles tab. A dialog similar to Figure 91 will appear.
This dialog page lists all the user profiles that exist on the local machine. A profile is a group of files and folders unique to each user that contains their personal preferences, such as desktop icons, screen saver and personal documents. If you want to back up a profile to a safe location, use the Copy To button. The Change Type button can be ignored as it specifically relates to a Microsoft Networking environment, which is outside the scope of this chapter. To delete a profile, simply click on it and click delete note that deleting a profile does not delete the user account associated with it, and the profile will be recreated the next time the user logs on.
