The System Information Tool 1 Performance Logs and Alerts

One important use of the System Information tool is exporting a report, either to send to a vendor for troubleshooting or to store for future reference. To do this, right click on the System Information snap-in object. Figure 117 will appear.

The top two options here will both produce system reports. The first option exports the information to a flat text file readable in any text editor, which is useful for formatting and review purposes. However once exported, the System Information tool cannot reload the flat text files it exports. The second option exports the information to a proprietary format that cannot be read in a text editor, but can be loaded back into the tool for review later. When exporting information, pick the best format for your requirements – or choose both!
