SpamBayes Although not directly related to Internet Explorer, SpamBayes226 is an extremely useful desktop Bayesian spam email filter. As a fair proportion of spam contains malicious HTML code, and Outlook uses Internet Explorer to render the HTML, it merits inclusion here. When installed, SpamBayes adds a new toolbar to Outlook, and monitors all incoming email for potential spam. This author has found it to be extremely accurate and reliable at classifying spam.
SpamBayes requires a small amount of training before it is effective. The best approach is to sort two folders; one with good email (ham), and one with junk email (spam). SpamBayes will analyze the folders and produce a database from which it begins to filter incoming E-Mail. It is an excellent alternative to a more corporate spam firewall (such as Spam Assassin). __________________ 226. http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/
