Service Configuration (Page 1 of 4) To configure a service, double click it. Depending on the version of Windows, a dialog with a number of tabs will appear, as shown in Figure 133.
Setting the startup type for the service is a simple matter of selecting the required type from the drop down list. The remaining options are usually left in their default states, unless there is a particular requirement to change the service name or description. Be careful before doing this as services can be considered a convention in themselves changing their names or descriptions can very quickly cause confusion.
