RAID-1 RAID-1122 is known as mirroring123 or Duplexing124. In a mirrored array, a complete copy of all data is written to both drives simultaneously, as illustrateed in Figure 405. RAID-1 provides full fault tolerance for a single drive failure. There is no significant performance degradation when accessing the remaining drive. The remaining drive operates without any fault tolerance until the failed drive is re-placed and the mirror set is rebuilt.
