Multimode Termination Multimode termination allows the attachment of LVD and non-LVD devices to the same SCSI bus and provides the correct termination for both types of signaling. A multimode terminator uses the DIFFSEN line to determine what the type of device is attached to and terminates the signal accordingly. A multimode terminator acts like an intelligent active terminator because it is able to distinguish whether all devices are LVD, all single-ended, or a mix of different types.
