Manual Network Setup

Configuring TCP/IP and AppleTalk for Ethernet must also be done from the Network window in System Preferences. For modems, at the TCP/IP tab, you must choose either Manually or using PPP. If you select TCP/IP, you will be prompted for the IP address, and if it is PPP, it will be supplied on login. If you use PPP, you must supply your service provider’s information at the PPP tab.
