Launching Applications The user can easily access a wide range of applications by left clicking on the stylized K located on the lower left corner of the task bar (this button works similar to the start button on a Windows system). Figure two shows an example of the pop-up menu that will appear. Applications can be launched by moving the mouse arrow to the major group and then moving the mouse arrow to the application desired and releasing the left mouse button.
In the bottom taskbar there are two icons, one, that of a little house (a home icon) or a second, a globe, both of which will launch the application Konqueror, in either, a split view mode file view (the home icon) or a single view mode browser (the globe icon).
