Formatting Hard Drives
Once a hard drive has been partitioned,
it must be formatted. Formatting is the process of writing a data
structure to the disk compatible with a specific file system. As
an analogy, if you were tasked with creating a customer feedback form,
partitioning would be the action of obtaining the blank piece of paper,
ready for storage of your customers opinions, and formatting would
be the action of drawing answer boxes onto it ready for the customer
to write their feedback (data) into.
