Error Events
Next, an error. Events of this type
are usually considered critical.
Figure 111: Event Properties - Error

|
Although this sounds like
a serious problem, it can in fact be safely ignored in most circumstances.
The purpose of including these events
is to demonstrate that not all reporting is exactly what it seems.
Check all warning and error events carefully, and follow up on them
until you are confident of their cause and meaning. Knowing how to
find information on an event is as important as knowing how to fix it,
therefore keep Google and EventID.Net bookmarked in your web browser.
Domain Security Policies
If the computer in question is a member of a Windows 2000 domain, you will find that the local security policy actually has no effect, and is overridden by the domain security policy. The domain security policy is under the control of the domain administrators, and cannot be altered using this process. |
