Display Properties (Page 4 of 4) Display Troubleshooting We can have various installation or configuration issues with a display adapter or a monitor. Sometimes we need to adjust the graphics accelerator. To do this, go to System Properties, point to Display Adapters, click the plus sign to display all available adapters (since on recent versions of Windows, you can have more than one adapter and more than one monitor), and double-click the adapter whose settings you wish to adjust.
Once in the Display Adapter the following screen appears.
Now click the Graphics button and the following screen will appear.
Here the Graphics acceleration (hardware) can be adjusted. Having some control over the adapter will help with memory and display issues. Note that sometimes issues with a display being garbled can be resolved by reducing the hardware acceleration. The good news is that even if the changes we make are not right we can adjust them again after rebooting to safe mode.
