Display Properties (Page 3 of 4) Monitor Settings Next, click the Monitor tab.
There is only one item to configure here, however it is an extremely important one. The refresh frequency option controls how often the graphics card sends an update to the monitor, and how often the monitor redraws the display. Choosing a low setting here causes an irritating flicker effect, which can rapidly cause headaches and eye strain. The recommended setting is 75 Hz and above. The final tab to be aware of is one you probably do not have: the GeForce Ti4200 tab. This is a tab created by the NVidia drivers for this graphics card, and allows you to set options specific to the card.
Most modern graphics cards and drivers extend Windows in this way, so it is important to be aware that this facility exists.
