Configuring Internet Explorer Security Zones (Page 1 of 7) On the surface, Internet Explorer appears to be a simple product; you type in website addresses, and it displays the resulting page. However, it is necessary for the A+ technician to understand its basic configuration mechanisms. This section uses Internet Explorer 5.5 for demonstration purposes, as the options available are much the same in all current versions (although their locations may differ). Internet Explorer is almost entirely configured via its options dialog, which can be accessed via the Internet Options applet in Control Panel, by right clicking on its desktop icon and choosing Properties, or by running it and choosing Options from the Tools menu. You are presented with a dialog similar to Figure 464.
