ConfigSafe (Page 3 of 3) Restoring a State When you restore a state, you can choose among tracked registry keys, system files etc. You do have to restore the complete state. The true power of this utility is that it allows you to compare two snapshots identifying the differences. If you cannot start your Windows, you can restore a snapshot from DOS. Boot the system from a floppy disk and run a DOS program SOS.EXE (shortcut for Save Our System) from ConfigSafe directory.
On-line Help is available by pressing F1 from anywhere inside the ConfigSafe program. ConfigSafe is a third-party shareware utility with the same purpose like System Restore from Windows XP. ConfigSafes website is http://www.configsafe.com/, where you can get the 14 days evaluation version.
