Taking a Snapshot

Snapshots can be taken manually. Before you do a risky task, such as installing new software or hardware you can start ConfigSafe utility and click a Snapshot button. Name the snapshot with a good name to remind you why you took it.

Snapshots can be also taken at regular time intervals. When you turn on Snapshot Scheduling function, it creates a background task called Autocheck that displays the taskbar icon shown in Figure 342.

Install Guard

The install guard works by detecting most software setup programs and the ‘Add New Hardware’ operations. When it detects new software or hardware installation/deinstallation it prompts users to take a snapshot.
