Classic View and Category View

In prior versions of windows, the Control Panel looked something like Figure 203.

In Windows XP, this view is now known as Classic View. The category view in Windows XP looks like Figure 204.

To get to the category view20, click on Start -> Control Panel and the category view will come up. As you can see, this view is radically different than the classic view. Towards the upper left hand area of the screen, you will notice under “Control Panel” the option to switch to Classic View. Below this under “See Also” are options for Windows Update, Help and Support, and Other Control Panel Options. We’ll go through these in a bit.
