Input Locales



The last tab, “Input Locales”, controls the keyboard settings for the current user.

The screenshot above shows a UK keyboard layout as the default, with no alternatives configured. When working in different countries, always check the physical keyboard layout against the one Windows is configured to use – there is no automatic correlation between the two. There are subtle differences between even an (English) UK and USA keyboard – this author has forgotten this on more than one occasion, and ended up typing a document full of “#” signs instead of “£” signs.
