Backup Media Options Both of these options are self-explanatory, with good descriptions below them. It is usually good practice to verify data after it has been backed up, as backups are useless unless the data is valid. The Use hardware compression option is grayed out as no tape drive is present hardware compression is not available for file-based backups. Click Next to set the media options.
Again this option only relates to tape based backups, and allows you to choose whether to append the backup to the tape (in other words, store multiple backups on one tape), or to replace any data on the tape with this new backup. The recommended setting for this option depends on the size of the data to be backed up if the data is larger than the available space on the tape, the backup program will prompt for another tape to be used when the current tape is full. The remaining two screens of the wizard are self-explanatory, allowing you to configure a name for the backup and the schedule for when it should run. When the wizard has been completed, the backup will run (depending on the schedule chosen).
